Chateau Ormes de Pez 2019

A consistently excellent Chateau in Saint-Estephe which outdrinks plenty of classed growths. The 2019 is made from 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc & 3% Petit Verdot. There’s a lovely vibrant core of blackcurrants and dark plums with notes of baking spice and Provence herbs. The tannins are soft and well rounded with a fine, fresh, savoury finish.

While drinking well now it will continue to evolve for another couple of decades if you’ve got the patience and a good cellar.
