I have a couple of ideas which I’ve been planning for upcoming tastings — things I’ve been looking forward to talking about while building up the right wines to fit the theme. This is definitely not one of those. At our recent New Wines tasting somebody pointed out that it’s been a long time since the last Riesling tasting and all of those ideas got delayed for another month and we find ourselves here again.
It’s possibly a little bit excessive to be organising another tasting dedicated to a single grape just two years after the first edition but:
- Somebody asked! How could I say no to such a polite request?
- There’s a whole load of new and utterly delicious wines which I’m excited to put on tasting
- There’s still plenty more to say!
So hopefully you'll come and join us for some entirely justified and correct pro-Riesling propaganda. There'll be seven glasses of wine made using this finest of grapes and some light nibbles on the side. I'm largely looking on the drier end this time around, but with a couple of sweeter things at the end and one Riesling-adjacent red wine for a bit of variety.
