Does anybody fancy a few drinks with us before the festival kicks off?
We’re heading down to one of Edinburgh’s most exciting new restaurants for a night of moderately civilised debauchery at the end of July and would like you to come along.
A couple of weeks ago we had a very pleasant afternoon sampling the rather tasty Greek food at Spitaki on Claremont St. and we immediately thought we’ll have to come back here as soon as possible, bring a load of folk and use it as an excuse to get stuck into some of our fancy pants Greek wines.
Now, it is a bit of a distance from our usual stomping ground, but we think you’ll find the food worth the walk.
It’s not the biggest of restaurants so numbers are limited to two dozen and tickets are priced at £25.
For that you get:
- A tutored tasting of six very different, very awesome Greek wines (including some top shelf stuff)
- A big Meze-style banquet (including plenty of veggie options, amazing octopus and very chunky kebabs), sweets, coffee etc.
- Lots of chat with random Easter Road folk and dodgy looking Cornelius staff
Things kick off at 8pm on Sunday 26th July
We’re looking at making this a semi-regular thing and having a few of these themed tasting evenings at various eateries around the city. If you would like to keep informed about them sign up for our irregular newsletter, or if you would like us to descend upon your own restaurant, get in touch through the regular channels.
